Great Weekend

Friends, I have had such a great weekend. I think it must have something to do with the weather. After having almost 2 weeks of cold, rain, and clouds we finally got some sun. So I spent some time hiking and also shopping this weekend. Before you scold me, don't worry, I didn't spend any money, my mother took me shopping (she's amazeballs btw) and it was for charity.

This past Saturday we had Fashion for a Fraction where local boutiques (and e-tailers) sale their clothes at a discount and the entry price went to Monroe Harding. My church is a huge supporter of Monroe Harding so I couldn't say no.

There were a lot of great deals but there were two online retailers that had some really cute and really affordable clothing. If you get a chance you should check them out. I'm sure you'll see some of my purchases on here in the near future.

New Year, New View Day 6

So I was really bad this weekend and spent my Saturday and Sunday in gym clothes and then in jeans and a sweatshirt thanks to the monsoon weather we've had here at home. Luckily I spent most of my time with family this weekend so I didn't spend too much time thinking about what I was throwing on. So here is my Monday outfit.

Sweater - Banana Republic (stolen from my brother's closet), jeans - American Eagle, boots - Fergie, belt - from a Kensie dress, white t-shirt - Target.

2013 Golden Globes, Fashion Bore

I don't know how anyone else felt about Golden Globes fashion this year, but I thought it was utterly boring. The men were the best dressed people on the red carpet if you ask me. Sure all of the ladies looked...pretty...but no one stood out. We got a nice glimpse into this seasons trends: reds, lace, glittery golds and silvers, and some mint. But there was no wow factor. Very disappointed Hollywood, very disappointed.

I liked Kerry Washington in Miu Miu. The dress was beautiful but I just thought it was a weird length and too boxy. If it had been a little more tailored and a little longer I think it would have been perfect. And her hair was too casual for the Golden Globes.

My favorite red dress (and there was a lot of red) of the night was Zooey Deschanel in Oscar de la Renta.
But I love Zooey Deschanel and in my mind she can do no wrong. Look how adorable she is.

If I had to choose my favorite look of the night. It would be Jessica Chastain in her beautiful Calvin Klein mint gown...if only it fit her.

I'm looking forward to watching the reruns of Fashion Police. Joan Rivers will not be easy on these ladies.
What did you think about the Golden Globe fashion this year?
